Washing Hands in the Time of Corona

Sharmin Akter: A few days back, I saw a meme video on how to pass time during this quarantined period. A guy was counting the tiles on the wall, the holes present in a strainer bowl, the number of balcony grills etc. Trust a guy to come up with doing something totally useless instead of doing the actual work around the house! Nevertheless, that video gave me an idea of counting something and that is how many times I wash my hands in a day! It may sound silly but given the time we are at right now; I believe it is much appropriate.
To execute my idea, I chose a typical day where I have to do the usual chores around the house, no extra work. So, my day went like this.

I woke up and the first thing I did was wash my hands. The reason behind this was because my cats sleep with me at night and sometimes in the middle of the night, they need attention and obviously I have to oblige them. Hence, the hand washing first thing in the morning before I touch anything else.
I made my bed, then I went to use the loo and of course I washed my hands.
I cleaned my cats’ litterboxes and washed my hands.
I refilled the litterboxes with litter and washed my hands.
I swept the floor and washed my hands.
I had breakfast and washed my hands.
I mopped the floor and washed my hands.
I played with my cats and washed my hands.
I dusted the furniture and washed my hands.
I used my phone and washed my hands.
I gave my cats their food and washed my hands.
I went to take a shower and washed myself! *LOL*
I had my lunch and washed my hands.
I brushed my teeth and washed my hands.
I took a nap and when I woke up, surprise, surprise, I washed my hands!
I cleaned the litterboxes again and washed my hands.
I had snacks in the evening and washed my hands.
I used the PC and I washed my hands.
I gave my cats their food and washed my hands.
I gave my cats their food and washed my hands.
I had dinner and washed my hands.
I used the PC again and washed my hands.
I brushed my teeth and washed my hands.
And then, I finally went to bed, calling it a night.
Now, I would like to point out that I am a human being with active renal and urinary system. So, I obviously went to the loo several times of the day. No need to think that women do not pee or poop. But since I am a lady, I chose to omit those parts. But rest assured, I washed my hands those times too whether I did number one or two!
Also, my cats are very demanding and I have to pet them whenever they want which is quite frequently. Each of my cats want their pet-pet at different times throughout the day and every time I pet one, guess what, I wash my hands.

So, all in all, it seems like I wash my hands a lot! But in our present situation, it has to be done. As for, how many times I actually washed my hands, including all the parts that I omitted, I leave that to your imagination.
